As one of the first employees at Goodloans, you will add to the foundations of the platform by being a leading member of the science function. The work you do will positively affect millions of people's lives by enabling them to be assessed accurately and fairly. Because we operate in emerging markets, our machine learning models are trained with various, and sometimes incomplete, data sources. As a machine learning scientist at Goodloans you will need to decipher features that are relevant to these markets. You will be working closely with the engineering team to continuously train, deploy and test your models in the real world.

You're a good fit for the role if you present most of the following:

• You love the idea of working as part of a small scale-up/startup team
• You are excited about serving emerging markets
• Have a higher degree in a quantitative field (Maths, Computer Science, Physics, etc.)
• Proven ability to understand business problems, including setting up data science projects and building appropriate data sets
• Are always hungry to research new machine learning models and techniques
• Ability to design, implement and execute projects with minimal supervision
• Knowledge or experience of working with data manipulation tools (e.g. NumPy, Pandas etc.) and ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.)

You're a great fit for the role if you present most of the following:

• Experience with AWS (specifically services relevant to ML , incl. Sagemaker, S3, Glue)
• Knowledge of NLP
